He was born On March 9th, 1964 in Rustavi, Georgis. He was a member of the 1999 "Caucasus 99" expedition that Summited Everest on May 12, 1999, Lev Sarkisov (2/12/38) became the oldest man to summit Everest (at the time). He graduated from Georgian Polytechnic Institute in 1980.

He summited Lhotse in 2000 with Piotr Pustelnik (Poland).
