Charlotte
Conant Fox, was born in Greensboro North Carolina on May,
10 1957. She, of course, is famous for her summit of
Everest on May 10th, 1996, when her expedition
leader, Scott Fischer, died along with 7 others
including Rob Hall. |
Mountaineering
Background: In Asia, Charlotte successfully climbed Everest,
Cho Oyu, and Gasherbrum II over a three-year period. In South
America, she climbed Aconcagua, Huascaran, Chopicalqui, and
several other 18,000+ ft. peaks in Peru. She has also climbed
the West Rib on Denali, Mt. Vinson (Antarctica), Kilimanjaro,
Mt. Rainier, Mont Blanc, and many alpine ice routes in the
Canadian Rockies. Additionally, she has climbed all 56
Colorado "14ers" and made many mountaineering ski
descents in North America and Europe. She has 15 years
experience as a professional ski patroller and 12 years
experience as an Emergency Medical Technician.
She
attempted the South face of Annapurna in 1998 with the
American Annapurna I South Face team, but none of the
climbers reached the Summit.
