The Sherpas of Everest Series: Lopsang Jangbu Sherpa

Lopsang Jangbu Sherpa summited Everest via the standard south east ridge four times. While many will recall Lopsang from 1996, others who actually meet him will recall his smile !

He Summited Everest on May 16, 1993; May 9th, 1994 without the use of bottled oxygen; May 7th, 1995 without the use of bottled oxygen; and May 10th, 1996 without the use of bottled oxygen.

Four summits of Everest in four years, including three without the use of bottled oxygen.

Sadly, he died September 21st, 1996 in an avalanche on Everest.

He was from Beding, Nepal.
