EverestHistory.com: Martin Zabaleta

Martin Zabaleta summited with the Spanish expedition on May 14th, 1980. He summited with Pasang Temba Sherpa via the standard south east ridge route. He placed an antinuclear symbol along with the Basque flag on the top of the world.

In Autumn 1999 he attempted the unclimbed North Face of 7,181m Menlungtse with Carlos Buhler, et.al.
